WE’RE RECRUITING!

Ever since we launched in 2019 things have been moving at full speed ahead! The network now has over 700 official members from across the globe as the network grows, we need an even bigger team to support the growth of this global community - so we’re recruiting for the next cohort of team members!

We need volunteers to support our team and help keep our projects on track. By playing a key role in ensuring all admin and planning run smoothly, you will join us in our mission to change the narrative for Black students and professionals in the economics space.

The committee teams/areas we need volunteers for include: Collaboration and Partnerships and Engage teams.

THE ROLES

Collaboration and Partnerships


This team is responsible for managing all our relationships with key external partners of the network, including public/private sector companies and academic institutions. The work is likely to involve:

  • Maintaining relationships with partners of TBEN, and supporting them to organise collaboration activities such as recruitment events, speaking panels and opportunities for TBEN members

  • Proactively suggesting new organisations TBEN should partner with and devising strategies to reach out

  • Supporting sponsorship rounds through relationships with TBEN partners

  • Advertising events on social media

Engage team - Programmes

This team is responsible for TBEN events, programmes campaigns and workshops.

  • Organise workshops, meetings, events, socials, particularly for the key events e.g. TBEN Black History Month

  • Plans and deliver key seasonal campaigns across the year to also be shared on social media platforms and featured in newsletters/blogs, content creation on Canva

  • Opportunity to run shape and organise our first TBEN ambassadors programme

  • Build Social media presence

CRITERIA

Time Commitment:
The time commitment varies (for example, it can peak in the lead-up to an event, the release of our monthly newsletter or campaign). On average, we would expect committee members to be spending a minimum of 2-3 hours on activities a month. Also, if appointed the expectation is all team members serve for at least 6 months with the option to extend.
 

Essential criteria:

  • Live within commuting distance of London

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

  • Proven ability to work with a team

  • Strong organisational and planning skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in MS Office
     

Desirable criteria:

  • Basic understanding of economics

  • Knowledge of project management (e.g. Asana) and event management software (e.g. Eventbrite) 

  • Knowledge of Canva and Anchor softwares

  • Working knowledge of social media channels (i.e. Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn)
