Our Mission
The Black Economists Network (TBEN) is an organisation dedicated to providing a platform through which professionals and students of Black African and Caribbean descent in economics can connect, collaborate, share ideas and support each other. We also seek to challenge the lack of diversity within economics related fields by bringing together and raising the profile of black people in economics by working alongside other organisations on their diversity strategies.
The TBEN Ambassador Programme kicks off in July 2024!
Our Ambassador Programme
In partnership with The Bank of England and Resolution Foundation.
This year-long programme empowers current UK university students, that are in and around London to champion diversity and inclusion in economics:
It features a kickstart with a five-week (three days a week) paid summer internship, followed by ongoing activities throughout the academic year (September 2024 - June 2025)...
You'll develop your leadership skills by organising events on your university campus to spread awareness about TBEN's mission for diversity in economics.
You will access professional mentors from leading organisations and career opportunities.
As a TBEN Ambassador, you'll join a network of passionate individuals working alongside TBEN to diversify the field.
These activities will equip you with the skills and experience to make a real difference.
